Birthday Mixtape Maker: A Personal Music Gift

A birthday mixtape works best when it sounds like the person receiving it. Start with a memory you share, rather than a list of whatever is popular this week.

Build a small birthday story

Choose a familiar opener: a song from a trip, a party, or a film you watched together. Put a more personal selection in the middle, then finish with something optimistic. Six thoughtful choices can say more than twelve unrelated favorites. The tool allows up to twelve songs; each plays a 30-second preview.

Make the note specific

Name the moment behind one track. For example: “Track two is for the drive home when we missed our exit.” That gives the recipient a reason to listen in order. Avoid treating an age or birthday date as information you must publish; the note is optional, and anyone with the link can read it.

Give it at the right moment

Create and preview the CD before the birthday. Copy the link into a message or add its QR code to a card. There is no scheduled delivery feature: keep the link somewhere you control and send it yourself when you are ready. Ask for one song back if they feel like continuing the exchange.

Questions before you start

Can I make a birthday CD for free?

Yes. Choose songs, add your title and note, and generate a virtual CD link without creating an account. This does not burn a physical disc or provide full-song downloads.

How many songs should a birthday mixtape have?

Try four to eight songs so each choice has a reason. The maximum is twelve. At 30 seconds per preview, eight available tracks take about four minutes.
